This multi-culti big band are in their element when kicking up a ruckus, a fact they've proved over their decade together, whether it's firing up a labor rally in Los Angeles or leading an unscripted (and apparently illegal) street parade through the downtown Austin, Texas. Live at the Fillmore brings fans all the fun without the threat of arrest, and attests to the power of a band just hitting its stride. The ten tracks on the CD (a bonus DVD has a different song list, plus interviews and photos) lean on the band's latest, Street Signs, but also yoke in some favorites from Ozo's early days, including the flamenco-fired "Eva" and the ska-powered "Como Ves."
