An album for true Airplane listeners. Each song soars in true ad lib artistic Airplane style....no Starship machine-like sound on this album...this is the stuff that made Airplane great...raw energy..best Airplane I ever heard...live and imperfect!

I was a little disappointed in this live album, maybe because I've heard superior live versions of most of the songs elsewhere. The most prominent example is their huge hit ''Somebody to Love.'' If you want to hear a great live version of that, get ''Woodstock Diary'' instead. Similarly, ''Won't You Try'' sounds a lot better to me on the ''Woodstock II'' album (circa 1972). I was disappointed that this version of ''Today'' didn't have its most important and appealing characteristic: the high reverby guitar lead. Sometimes expected harmonies are omitted from the songs, also. The album's not bad, the songs are fundamentally quite good, but the versions here just aren't as good as you'll find elsewhere.
