Vol. 13 in the Dave Matthews Band Live Trax series was recorded at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO, in June of 2008. The band was joined by guests Tim Reynolds on guitar and Rashawn Ross on trumpet, and performed material ranging from old standards like "Ants Marching" and "Tripping Billies" to new cuts such as "Cornbread," "Louisiana Bayou," and "#27." As has been the norm, there are a couple of choice covers included: Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" and the now ubiquitous reading of Sly Stone's classic "Thank You (Falettin Me Be Mice Elf Agin)." Matthews writes good songs, but the jams get very predictable, very quickly. The bottom line is, if you are a DMB fanatic, you'll need this; if not, there is little here to convince you that you need to be. Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
