Taken from the same concert that produced Lionel Hampton's famous "Stardust" solo, this second album actually has more Hamp (he dominates all six selections) but never reaches the heights of "Stardust." There are some fine moments from trumpeter Charlie Shavers, altoist Willie Smith and bassist Slam Stewart on such familiar material as "Perdido," "Hamp's Boogie Woogie" and "Flying Home," making it a worthwhile release.
