Editorial Reviews

There's quite a bit of evidence that, for whatever reason, guitar wiz George Lynch just doesn't get along all that well with singers, as he's gone through quite a few vocalists over the years (Don Dokken, Oni Logan, etc.). And on his 2008 release, Let the Truth Be Known, the man who is often referred to as "Mr. Scary" has enlisted the vocal talents of former Brides of Destruction frontman London LeGrand. There are quite a few headbanging highlights here, such as "Skeleton Key" (which includes a pretty sweet hook -- provided by Lynch's six-string), as well as the '80s sleaze rocker "Psycho Circus" (not to be confused with the Kiss album/song that also uses the same name), the quite heavy "Everything I Want," and even an Extreme-like ditty, "Let the Truth Be Known." Ol' George could probably stick a baboon behind the mike stand and his fans would buy his latest album for the six-string shredwork alone, and whether this turns out to be a long-lasting union between guitarist and singer remains to be seen. But if bets are being placed, you might consider putting your money down on the partnership being rather fleeting -- as judged by Lynch's prior track record. Greg Prato, All Music Guide
