About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Pssst -- the only Shannon songs that are undeniably essential are "Let the Music Play" and "Give Me Tonight." They can also be found, respectively, on the second and third volumes of Tommy Boy's excellent Perfect Beats series. If you're feeling adventurous enough, you can pick up those two discs and treat yourself to some of the best electro and post-disco money can buy, rather than one disc that includes two incredible singles and a dozen other songs that range from decent to perfectly forgettable. Conversely, Let the Music Play: The Best of Shannon can't be faulted. It contains "Let the Music Play," "Give Me Tonight," and the remainder of the singer's chart hits, including "Do You Wanna Get Away," "My Heart's Divided," and "Stronger Together." It covers her career through 2000 and is definitely the best summary of her work thus far. Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
