The soundtrack to Whit Stillman's epic Last Days of Disco is an excellent balance of predictable disco classics ("I Love the Nightlife (Disco 'Round)," "Got to Be Real," "Good Times," "He's the Greatest Dancer," "More, More, More"), plus a couple of cult items ("Doctor's Orders," "Everybody Dance," "Shame," "I'm Coming Out") and soul numbers ("The Love I Lost," "The Oogum Boogum Song," "Love Train") for good measure. The result may be a soundtrack that's heavily nostalgic, but it's a soundtrack that's enormously entertaining because it gets its era right and throws in some worthy surprises with the familiar.
