About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

For a while, it seemed as if these good-natured New Yorkers were the only folks around capable of mastering a fusion of jam-band musicianship and high-octane pop savvy. And while that hybrid only took them to the chart tops on a pair of occasions -- the free-floating funk jam "Two Princes" and the stuttering boogie digression "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" -- this nicely outfitted collection does a good job of confirming that their low-key charm went much further than that. Just Go Ahead Now is better suited for newcomers to the Doctors' office than it is for existing fans, since there's just one previously unreleased song -- the jaunty 1995 effort "Miss America" -- contained among the 17 cuts. But if you fit into that category, and Chris Barron and company have tickled your fancy on the radio, just say "Aaaah." David Sprague, Barnes & Noble
