    Great for All Ages!by Anonymous

July 28, 2008: I think this music can appeal to all generations. I am a 55-yr-old mom, with 10- and 16-yr-old daughters, and this is one of our favorite CDs. It has been in rotation in my car for about 6 months now: we probably listen to it about twice a week and still haven't gotten tired of it. We know most of the words by now, so singing along is fun and brings us together the way music is meant to do. I appreciate that there is a variety of styles and ages of the songs. The kids are amazed that Well-Respected Man was a hit from my own youth - LOL! Highly recommended for folks who like an eclectic collection of singable songs.

July 03, 2008: I personally loved this soundtrack! I am not a 14 year-old girl, but I think that's alright =] The thing about it is that the music is very organic and orginal...most people in the mainstream media wouldn't love this music because its so different. The movie was the same way. For some people its either hit or miss, but its all a matter of opinion anyways.

Why We Rated This Appropriate for Ages 13 and UP

    What to watch out for

    • Language:

Some explicit language, but not gratuitous. "We'll pray all this s--t our president has gotten us in will go away…F--k Bush and f--k this war."

    • Violence:

A few references to self-inflicted violence: "If you want to cut yourself, remember that I love you and if you want to kill yourself remember that I love you/call me up before you're dead we can make some plans instead."

    • Messages

    • Sex:

      Not an issue.

    • Consumerism:

      Obvious tie-in to the movie.

    • Drugs:

      One reference to "ruffies."

    What Parents Need to Know

    About Juno

Parents need to know that the quirky, sardonic tone of the movie Juno is accurately and sincerely translated onto the film's soundtrack. Less loaded than the movie's main plot of teen pregnancy, these classic and indie rock tunes tackle issues such as love, friendship, and coming of age in an original, lighthearted, and intelligent manner.

    Families Can Talk About

Families can talk about the movie's message about teen pregnancy. Does the way Juno deals with her situation seem real? Why, or why not? What does your family think about teens having sex? Families can also talk about the unique mix of artists on the soundtrack. How do the songs from 20 and 30 years ago stand up to those created today? How do they all relate to the same themes? Also, how does the combination of simplistic harmonies and complicated lyrics match the tone of the soundtrack and the movie?
