About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Faded celebrities turn to Dancing with the Stars with the intent of reviving their careers, so it's only appropriate that Julianne Hough, one of the show's professional dancers, attempts to reverse engineer that logic by using Dancing to launch a career as a singer. Logic learned from American Idol dictates that any pretty wholesome girl or guy with all-American good looks is automatically a country singer, and so Utah native Hough is packaged as a spunky, irrepressibly chipper country-pop thrush, the kind of country-pop that fits Hough even when she's singing songs of heartbreak. Hough's producer, David Malloy, casts the bubbly blonde as the love-struck girl next door or the faithful confidant who offers sensible advice to her wayward best friend, as heard across nearly the entire second half of the album on tracks like "Hello," "Help Me, Help You," and "Love Yourself." October 05, 2008: Julianne is good at dancing. Very good. She should stick to it. However, her songs aren't that great. Her voice is obviously fake, because of the fact that she has no country to her voice when she talks. Second, the songs are cheesy and its themes are overused. Nothing interesting around this corner. To me, this is nothing but &quot just another&quot pop country album. That's just me, of course.

May 27, 2008: Julianne, You are soooo talented. I think you are the BEST dancer on "Dancing With The Stars", I just can't take my eyes off of you. When you dance, you just glide across the floor in all your dance steps, you are AWESOME! But, you are also a very talented singer. You have a beautiful voice. I have your new CD and I will always buy your music. Best of luck with your singing career, but please, please don't ever leave "Dancing With The Stars." You make the show!!! I truly missed you when you were voted off this past season.
