In an R&B era dominated by bump-and-grind come-ons, it's comforting to find that chivalrous soul is not completely dead. Atlanta quartet Jagged Edge do more than spout sweet nothings on their sophomore effort, J.E. HEARTBREAK. Their soaring-but-chaste hit single "He Can't Love U" proves that not all men have nookie on the brain. Granted, the Jagged fellas -- Brian, Brandon, Richard, and Kyle -- do have a naughty side, as they show on the up-tempo "Girl Is Mine," featuring a rap solo by their So So Def label boss Jermaine Dupri. On the bulk of J.E. HEARTBREAK, however, Jagged Edge's goal seems to be the opposite of sex. On ballads like "Promise" and "Let's Get Married," these Southern gentlemen profess their desire for commitment. And on "True Man," they complain that some women would rather play games than be in a lasting relationship. While a good man may still be hard to find, with Jagged Edge around, at least there's hope.
