A set of hot remixes of Jennifer Lopez's best-loved hits, J to Tha L-o! cements her place as one of contemporary music's most formidable dance-pop divas. Original producer Rodney Jerkins turned her song "If You Had My Love" into a No. 1 club smash by pumping it up with strings and staccato beats; likewise, he gives "Love Don't Cost a Thing (RJ Schoolyard Mix)" an electro-funk touch and a Fat Joe cameo that'll keep four on the floor. Capitalizing on the success of the Murder remix of "I'm Real" (also included on this collection), J. Lo's partner-in-rhyme, Ja Rule (along with Cadillac Tah), returns on a new reading of "Ain't It Funny" that slows down the originally bubbly song and gives it a hip-hop sheen. Elsewhere, Hex Hector's radio mix of "Waiting for Tonight" finds Ms. Lopez deeply immersed in house beats and swooshing keys, while the breezier Metro Remix of "I'm Walking on Sunshine" has more BPMs and a flamenco guitar bit not found in P. Diddy's rougher original production. The disc's only departure from the dance floor is "Alive" (from the motion picture Enough), a lush ballad co-written by hubby Cris Judd that showcases Lopez's maturing chops. But, as this disc proves, J. Lo is still pop and R&B's dancing queen. Dave Gil de Rubio, Barnes & Noble
