Mindi Abair's GRP debut, It Just Happens That Way, showcases the multi-talented artist's pop-influenced vision of jazz. The saxophonist/vocalist/percussionist and composer offers listeners 12 exceptional tunes on which she plays alto and soprano saxophones, keyboards, vox, and wind chimes. Best known for her featured solos on tour with the Backstreet Boys, Mindi Abair is both invigorating and exciting. She finds a new challenge with Eagle-Eye Cherry's smash hit "Save Tonight," on which she showcases her inviting vocals, which are reminiscent of Norah Jones and Sheryl Crow. Abair co-wrote all but one of the CD's tracks, including "Save the Last Dance," "Flirt,"and "Lucy's." July 04, 2009: Saw Mindi at Jazz on the Vine for the first time. We liked her performance so much we ordered her CD when we got home since the lines were so long to get one there. If you like Jazz, try this one.

May 13, 2003: my husband and i love to listen to smooth jazz so we recently attended a show where mindy abair was part of the line up. i must say, mindy stole the show! all of the songs on her CD are absolutely fabulous! she is extremely talented, I haven't heard many female saxaphone players who can perform as good as she can.
