About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

A much stronger debut than the norm for the era. Ten of the 12 cuts are Ron Elliott originals, including the hits "Laugh Laugh," "Still in Love with You Baby," and "Just a Little." The hard-rocking numbers are the weakest, but "Stick Like Glue" and "I Would Be Happy" are fine Beatlesque numbers, and "They'll Make You Cry" is a first-rate moody folk-rocker. The CD reissue adds two bonus tracks, a demo of "Just a Little" and the single "Good Time Music." Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide

January 05, 2007: The Beau Brummels were one of the most important, yet underrated American bands of the 1960's. Many American teens assumed the Brummels were British, thanks to the band's name, but this San Francisco group is American all the way. The Beau Brummels are considered by many to have introduced folk/rock to the music world, featuring the highly talented Sal Valentino on lead vocals, and the writing prowess of guitarist Ron Elliott. Later in the 1960's the group helped pioneer country/rock. This album peaked at #24 on the charts in the spring of 1965, with the groups two biggest hits, Laugh Laugh and Just a Little being highlights. Do yourself a favor and try the Beau Brummels on for size.
