January 03, 2005: I loved the movie and the book and I feel the soundtrack captures the beauty of both. The pure elegance of the songs makes you feel like Louis is right behind you breathing over your shoulder waiting for you to turn around.

July 28, 2003: Actually, I'm a big 80's rock fan. So why do I write a review about this cd, so different from my beloved Axl Rose (who actually appears in the last song)? Well, I must say that the MOVIE is spect(r)acular. I have never seen Cruise act so good. So why shouldn't the SOUNDTRACK be something to remember? If you listen at "Santiago's Waltz" you'll know what I mean. You can almost see that halfly mad vampire dancing in front of you, with a slightly surprised expression in his face, making you drop your chin and think "I've been searching after vampires a long, long time... and then I find THIS?!" The composers know what they've been doing. They've caught the moments of sorrow, madness, passion and anger in notes, and then transformed them into great pieces of music. Some people may not like this cd, maybe because they have closed their mind for the poetic things. Even if I don't think so myself, I AM a poet in mind. I'm getting the goosebumps when I'm listening to some of these songs. My mind reacts and decides to fly high; high in world of music that really SAYS something. Maybe this cd ISN'T a masterpiece, but I don't care about that. I like it anyway. But why doesn't it recieve five stars then? I don't know. Maybe I want one for myself.
