Editorial Reviews

These Bay Area punk standard-bearers are still Clash-obsessed after all these years, but that's not exactly the worst thing in the world. Where Rancid's last, self-titled outing set the controls for the heart of '77, maintaining dangerous speed levels and maximum venom, Indestructible is something of a nod to Sandinista!, with its surfeit of off-the-beaten-path ramblings. Rancid show surprisingly deft footwork in moving from organ-fueled soul ("Fall Back Down") to convincingly beachy surf-rock (the infectiously bouncy "Memphis"). Diehards needn't fret too much, though: The quartet still flex plenty of muscle when they get down to business with bare-knuckled ska-punk ditties like "Red Hot Moon" and the semi-autobiographical "Spirit of '87." Indestructible has a couple of clinkers hidden in its depths -- notably the generic "Travis Bickle" -- but when a band is capable of hitting grand slams like the piano-laced, Faces-via-CBGB "Arrested in Shanghai," an occasional strikeout is easy to forgive. Punks not dead!by Anonymous

January 02, 2009: By far, one of my favorite albums to listen to and maybe my favorite Rancid album - but it's hard to claim that 100%. These musicians are really talented, their lyrics are as if they were written by a pissed off poet - and that is great.
These guys are definetly at the top for the best punk bands.
Punk will never die with these guys still rockin'-
I know this next statement is wishful thinking but it feels nice to think if the song 'fall back down' was dedicated to their fans - we all know that if Rancid falls down, we sure as sh-it will help them back up again!

April 25, 2005: This is the best (by a bit, ...and out come the wolves is a close second) of what I call the "musical" rancid cds. they are a split personality--hardcore punk and ska-pop-punk. This cd does the best job of showcasing both sides of a great band.
