About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Kenny G’s saxophones can find the inherent sweetness in any tune, so it stands to reason that a collection of unabashedly melodious songs brings out the best in the perennially popular instrumentalist. Wielding his customary soprano saxophone -- with occasional turns on his equally passionate tenor -- Kenny finds the G spot in established classics: old (“It Had to Be You,” “As Time Goes By”), new (James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful,” Alicia Keys’s “If I Ain’t Got You”), and in-between (“Yesterday” “The Way We Were,” “If”). Lyricism is to be expected -- if not demanded -- and the listener-friendly hornman doesn’t disappoint. There’s not much you can count on these days, but luxurious sounds from Kenny G are certainly among them. William Pearl, Barnes & Noble

December 12, 2006: Because of the ages of these tunes it is more remarkable of the this young man to be such a master at this kind of music. (our music) I am making the claim be- cause of my age. I am almost double his age. And before I go, I'd certainly like to see or hear him do two of my very favorite songs. I am possitive he will do his usually masterful job of TWELVETH OF NEVER and WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL . I don't remember who the writers are, but Johnny Mathis did a very good job on Twelveth Of Never and of course Perry Como came with on with his usual cool self on With All My Heart And Soul (I Love You). I am sure that if I am fortunate enough to hear those in my lifetime, I'll die happily ever after, although I'd love to see him live in concert before I go.
