A very typical offspring album. Recorded before Smash on much lower quality sound, this is sort of something between their scratchy self-titled sound and the sound on Smash. An equal amount of punk energy as melody. As far as songs go, it is sort of all or nothing, either the songs will blow you away or are basic. Some honorable mentions would be Session, Burn It Up, LAPD, No Hero, and Forever and a Day. If you like their sound on Americana, look elsewhere. If you are more into Smash, this is worth getting. 4 out of 5

Offspring pretty much peaked with their 1994 album "Smash". "Ignition" is a good companion piece that displays some of the musical hooks that ultimately have become trademark for the band. A solid all around album. My favourite track would have to be "Kick Him When He's Down".
