September 10, 2004: This is my favorite album from Michael W. Smith. The songs Secret Ambition, On the Other Side, I Hear Leesha, and The Throne, are my favorites. Ashton is neat to, especially if you listen to The Throne afterwards, it's like Ashton is the evil and The Throne triumphs in the battle. You need to read This Present Darkness to understand it better. Then read Piercing the Darkness (it's a continuation from the first book) I read somewhere that Michael W. Smith got inspiration from that book (This Present Darkness) to write the music to Ashton. Also, read the book It's Time To Be Bold. Wonderful! I donated my copy to the library at my church so others could enjoy it as well. You're awesome Smitty and I know God think's your awesome too! Keep telling His word through your music!

January 20, 2002: Probably my favorite ''Smitty'' album. A real, honest sound that carries the meditative embiance of a 3am drive down a lonely highway. I can hear the Spirit of God whisper through these songs as Michael's music and Wayne's lyrics speak from out of their own testimonies of faith. I made a super-8 ''video'' of ''On the Other Side'' while in film school at the University of Colorado in Boulder. It was wonderfully instrumental for my own Christian testimony there. It's an older style of music (late eighties) but the sentiments are clear and their power is undiluted by the years... a classic album. Etherial, powerful, deeply moving, flowing, Christian soft rock.
