About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Xscape's debut had some intriguing variations that distinguished it from others in the ever-crowded distaff end of the urban contemporary circuit. Their shared leads were more gospel-edged than those of En Vogue or SWV; their first hit, "Just Kickin' It," had a bawdy undercurrent that made it genuinely appealing, and Xscape demonstrated grit and energized harmonizing rather than over-rehearsed polish. But Xscape's most captivating quality, at least on this CD, was their spontaneity, something that can't be faked. Ron Wynn, All Music Guide

October 08, 2006: I think Xscape should be at #1. Their debut album took things to a whole nother level. Their first single "Just Kickin' It" hit major status at #2 on the charts and followed by the top ten hits "Love on my Mind and "Understanding". With tight harmonies, and lyrics they out-beat Oooooooh!...On the TLC Tip by TLC and Destiny's Child's self-titled debut. You need to have this, this a must have!!!

March 01, 2004: this cd and off the hook are the two best xscape cds ever i respect them always for making some of the best r and b music in the 90s.i think they could of worked a little bit harder on traces on m lipstick i mean it was good dontget me wrong but some of the songs were very disappointing to me not like the first 2 though.i recommend the first two xscape to everybody all around the country and if you dont have you really need to get smacked up side your head for not having one of the best girl group cds ever.peace/..................
