Editorial Reviews

One of the best country Christmas albums, this smart blend of old and new songs doesn't have a traditional carol in the bunch. He starts off strong with the rocking "Honky Tonk Christmas" and then sings a gorgeous duet with Alison Krauss. He adds his voice to a previously taped track by the late Keith Whitley on "There's a New Kid in Town" and does a credible job with Merle Haggard's "If We Make It Through December." Save for a silly duet with the cartoon Chipmunks, this is a fabulous album. Brian Mansfield, All Music Guide

July 08, 2007: This was Alan Jackson's 1st Christmas and my favorite of his two Christmas CDs (Let it Be Christmas is the 2nd CD). To me, this CD is what Alan Jackson represents--some good honky tonk tunes & a couple of more solemn songs, all in a Christmas fashion. I look forward to hearing it every holiday season. The duet with Alison Krauss, The Angels Cried, is simply beautiful and I thought he did a great job on the Merle Haggard tune, If We Make It Through December. If you're one of those people who don't really like Christmas music but like country music and Alan Jackson, I think you'd like this CD.
