Following in the footsteps of its preceding two editions, Steve Howe's Homebrew 3 collects previously unheard demos from the renowned guitarist of Yes, Asia, and GTR (not to mention Anderson-Bruford-Wakeman-Howe). As with the previous Homebrew releases, the tunes are primarily stripped down, and prominently feature Howe's guitar work. Included are the rapid-fire guitar riffing of the album opener, "Turbulence," songs you'd expect to hear if you could actually visit the sci-fi landscapes of Roger Dean's paintings (especially "Pyramidology"), and the stark acoustic guitar/voice ditty "Between Your Smiles." While it contains quite a few interesting musical bits, Homebrew 3 is obviously aimed exclusively at hardcore Yes and Howe fans. Greg Prato, All Music Guide
