Another in that string of perfect albumsby JohnQ

July 06, 2009: After the disappointment of Dylan's very first album he proceeded to put out a string of practically perfect recordings. Is it possible to say which in that string the best is? Perhaps not, but the presence of Ballad of A Thin Man makes this the one I would find hardest to leave behind.

The sound of immortalityby Anonymous

March 01, 2007: From the opening snare shot of "Like A Rolling Stone" to the last harmonica note of the 11 minute epic "Desolation Row" Dylan made himself an icon of music and American pop culture. This history making recording deserves all the lavish credit it gets. It's introspection, humor, cynicism, and the sheer energy of Dylan's nasal vocals leaves an immediate and powerful impression. This album influences music and pop culture to this day, and even though his cryptic lyrics steal the show, the music ain't bad either. Dylan's lyrics are beautiful because you can interpret them however you like. Every song is unique and he never gets boxed into any particular style. Music like this will never be made again, so if you want to take a mind blowing 51 minute trip into bliss, I suggest you pick up music I'd love to be lost on a desert island with.
