The infectious pop-rock of FFH remains as solid as ever on Have I Ever Told You, the group's third release for Essential Records and its most hit-laden effort to date. Once an a cappella group, the three-man, one-woman FFH have retained the tight harmonies that inevitably come from such a musical background. Yet FFH have long been distinguished by their edgy pop, which finds a happy middle between the gloss of Avalon and the grit of Sixpence None the Richer. Have I Ever Told You shows us the group's many moods: there's the peppy opening tracks "Watching Over Me" and "Fly Away," and the deeply worshipful "We Sing Alleluia" and plaintive "Before It Was Said." The group even gets just plain silly, as on the song "Astronaut," which boasts the forgettable chorus, "I don't know that much about astronauts, but I know that Jesus cares an awful lot..."). But there's a lot of meat, and there's just enough sass, to this harmonic pop to keep things interesting. Start spreading the word. Lisa Zhito, Barnes & Noble
