March 19, 2004: My wife & I are still captivated by Linda's breathtaking opening lyric, "Save me,.." after 27 years. We both are so grateful for Linda's vocal talents, as well as her work with kids. What an awesome gift LR is to all of us! This album is a project that clicks, with the exceptional production of Mr. Asher and the chemistry of the musicians. The selection & playing order of the songs, especially Karla Bonoff's "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me", makes for an incredible album. It's still one of our favorites after all these years. The cover photography is stunning.

January 08, 2004: I don't remember when I've heard Ronstadt as poignant as within this selection of songs perfectly suited to her crying voice -- holding the angst of the pieces as high and low and deep and resonant as she's ever been heard. However, the conundrum here is it still seems to be reaching for the ultimate note -- having already found it ... You'll have to hear it for yourself.
