August 09, 2006: One of Brady's earliest "rock" records, including the classics "Crazy Dreams", "The Road To The Promised Land" and "Nothing But The Same Old Story". There's hardly a weak track on this album, although I'm not gone on "Night Hunting Time" - the lyrics seem a bit contrived. The final track "Nothing But The Same Old Story" describes the Irish experience in London - trying to fit in, but always an outsider. I love the guitar/piano/organ intro, and the wailing electric guitar throughout the song, that morphs into police sirens as the narrator finally lets loose after too many beers. This song also appears on a later compilation "Songs and Crazy Dreams", but the rawer quality of this original mix rings truer for me, having been one of the Irish in London.
