The 40th anniversary of the Charlie Brown comic strip is celebrated on this 1987 CD by performances of songs used on the cartoon series (most of which were originally composed by Vince Guaraldi). A variety of artists participated in the project including David Benoit, B.B. King (singing "Joe Cool"), Dave Grusin, Chick Corea ("The Great Pumpkin Waltz"), Joe Williams, Gerry Mulligan, Lee Ritenour, Patti Austin and even Kenny G ("Breadline Blues") and Dave Brubeck ("Benjamin"). December 27, 2004: If you enjoy the Peanuts TV specials and Jazz you will love this CD. I owned it in college and lost it in a breakup (I was more upset about the CD!) This is great Instrumental and Vocal music from the greats of jazz (Chick Correa, Joe Williams WHOO HOO!) Great Daily Commute Music ~~ "Little Birdie" and "Joe Cool" are fun to listen to in the car and may stop some road rage!!
