The listener should be aware that this compilation of Drifters hits is recorded live and is not the original group. That said, the performance is stellar, as is the sound. Often times reunion performances -- especially when original members are missing -- signifies something lacking in the way music is delivered. Not so in this case: the signing, the band, the material, and the sound quality are all top of the shelf. In addition, there are guest appearances by Gary Brooker and bonus live videos.
