November 14, 2003: I heard Maureen McGovern's voice for the first time when I heard the song "Different Worlds" (from the TV show "Angie") when I was three; and for fourteen years after that, that song constantly went into one ear and out the other! It wasn't until I reached my early teens that I found out who she was. Some years later, I bought a various-artist compilation that contained her song "The Morning After" which almost made me shed a tear. I guess I can say that the only reason I bought this CD was for the song "Different Worlds". Before I bought this CD, I did some research on Maureen and her music. I noticed that every single song except for "The Morning After" were taken from Maureen McGovern's self-titled album from 1979 which leads me to give some criticism: what the record company should have done was release Maureen's 1979 album on CD OR include some of her other songs of the past (like her two other movie themes "We May Never Love Like This Again" and "We Could Have It All" and other songs from her other albums of the past) and keep the title "Greatest Hits". The only song that is featured on Maureen's 1979 album and not on this CD is called "Life's a Long Way to Run". Don't get my criticism give you the wrong impression! Go ahead and buy this CD, as the music is terrific and definitely worth exploring! By the way, when you listen to her, you'll be listening to one of the most beautiful, poignant voices in the world!
