Great Hits CD: My Thoughts On the Last Selectionby Stacey_Foreman

September 12, 2009: While the last piece on the CD has some definition and clarity problems due to the speed of the piece and related breathing requirements, Rampal's intentional asymmetry with this piece is demonstrated by violent crescendos which were intermittent and spontaneous. Played with Rampal confidence, this selection made this CD one of my favorites. In my opinion, Jean-Pierre Rampal is nothing short of a musical genius who has yet to be matched.

I Also Recommend: Suites for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio, Bolling: Picnic Suite, Claude Bolling: Suite for Cello & Jazz Piano Trio, Claude Boling: Suite No. 2 for Flute & Jazz Piano Trio, Bolling's Greatest Hits.
