    Editorial Reviews

Great Epic Film Scores repackages bits and pieces of the soundtracks for the Samuel Bronston-produced films El Cid, 55 Days at Peking, The Fall of the Roman Empire, and The Magnificent Showman. Aside from El Cid, which was composed by Miklos Rozsa, the music is by Dimitri Tiomkin. Each composer conducts his own work, and lyrics have been written to some of the pieces by Paul Francis Webster. There are better reissues of this material available, which are more highly recommended to soundtrack buffs. Steve Huey, All Music Guide
