About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

This highly charged mix of urban and contemporary gospel from the 50-voice Dallas-based youth choir stretched gospel music to its outer limits, redefining all but its message with its hip-hop musical metamorphosis. It's slammin' lead track "Stomp" served as a breakthrough to a generation enthralled with rap. An up-beat, raw dance cut with a contagious beat, "Stomp" showcased the soulful rap vocals of Cheryl "Salt" Riley and the savvy writing, producing and arranging talents of Franklin. Other standout cuts include the fresh grooves of "Up Above My Head," which imparted a jazz feel reminiscent of Manhattan Transfer, and moving ballads like "The Storm Is Over Now," "Love," "Sweet Spirit," and "So Good." For choirs in search of an up-tempo pace, there was the somewhat preachy "Faith" and the rousing "It's Rainin'." Lisa Collins, Barnes & Noble

April 19, 2006: ther's no doubt this album is completely and truly remarkable. Not only does it stretch to the far of older mature xtians it also captivates the hearts and souls of younger teenager.it contradicts the myths put on gospel music that it's dull, boring and un energetic. It gives a taste to what exactly xtianity involves hence "god's property"!
