September 08, 2008: I'm an extreamly big fan of the Gipsy Kings and I have been following their music career for 21 years. I am also a Critic on music but not an Official one. Being so I am one who listens to how they have progressed or are progressing in their music and musical style of playing &quot meaning to me&quot where they are branching out to in the world. Throughout their Career they have mainly stayed in the style of a poppish kind of sound with a Gipsy Rumba/Flamenco kind of feel which suits them very well. When they got to Tierra Gitana I noticed that they started to get slightly heavier on gipsy roots but still kind of keeping that poppy feel to it. When I got Compas the songs sounded like they where more latin with a touch of a melodic, Arabic sound with a couple of songs. Then their Somos Gitanos album came out it sounded like they where back to their poppish Rumba kind of sound and their voices where getting deeper and more gravely. Then their Roots album came and it was a completly different feel. It sounderd like they had completly gone back to their gipsy roots. At first I couldn't get the feel for it and I only like five tracks on the whole album for a while. However when I listened more carefully I was starting to like it and soon I liked almost all the tracks. Then in 2006 their new album Pasajero finally came out and when I listened to it I found that a few of their songs had a slightly Paris/Jazzy kind of feel but it had that poppish kind of sound again that I was so used to which I was Glad about but at the same time it also had some slightly digital sounds in their too which was just a little concerning to me because it means they might collaborate with other bands or take on a different sound that wouldn't fit their style or be apeeling to me or possebly their other fans out there. That isn't to say that the album's not great cause I like that album however I'm the kind of person who likes to keep things traditional. As long as they don't do anything really wild and crazy like heavy metal or country or rap or techno and such they'll be fine and I will remain their one of many #1 fans and they have keeped to their traditions so as of now I find it only fitting to give them my highest rating 5 Stars. Outstanding job Gipsy Kings!! I shall be keeping updated with their music anxiously waiting for more!
