About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah is the second posthumous Nirvana record, an attempt to capture Nirvana at the peak of its powers on stage. That doesn't necessarily mean all the band's best-known songs are here -- "Come As You Are," "All Apologies," and "About a Girl" are all absent -- but it does mean that this is the closest representation to what Nirvana sounded like on-stage. It may not be perfect and it's a little scattershot due to its varied source material (the tapes were recorded anywhere between 1989 and 1994), but it's still a terrific record, thanks to a sharp selection of performances and a set list that relies on B-sides, album tracks, and album favorites, highlighting the group at its best. It's not necessary, but it still finds a great band in top form. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

May 09, 2009: I had no clue this album existed for a very long time, but when i found out about it I decided I really needed it. It is amazing, and great because the only other official live Nirvana album is Unplugged. It's awesome to listen to because I'm way too young to have ever gone to a Nirvana show, and it seems this is the closest i was gonna get to it. So yes, it's amazing.

July 29, 2003: Hello Nirvana fans! If you ever heard the name Nirvana on TV and never heard there music, than nows the time to listen! Besides that, this is the CD to get for Christmas or your birthday! Its a very, very excellent CD from Nirvana you'll ever hear from. You must agree that Smells like Teen Spirit is a stand out song (amateur Nirvana listeners!)One thing is a little weird in the song Spank Thru (get it,thank you!) well in the beginnig part of the song,Kurt almost sounds like Elvis Presley a little bit when he sings:'This song was a about'in low deep vocals. But in the rest of the song, Kurt is regular in the rest of the song. If you live on a farm, listen to Milk It. If your in a great mood, sing a long in Lithium. If you feel like screaming at the top of your lungs than listen to Smells like Teen Spirit. If you have a girlfriend than listen to Heart Shaped Box a very sweet song that you would sing to your girl. She'll love it! Oh yeah and there's a song called School that should be the anthem of your school or your High School. So yes buy this CD today! This CD doesn't Smell like a money back guarentee thing as you will always keep this CD even when you turn into an old man. Peace! :)
