About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

The shoddy artwork, poor sound quality, and paltry playing time of this release and others in Relativity's Best Of series are proof positive that the label must have spent all of five minutes putting them together. Clocking in at under 45 minutes, Fate simply can't do justice to the extremely influential early career of Death. The band was actually the brainchild of guitarist Chuck Schuldiner, and their combination of crushing heaviness, piledriving bass drums, and wicked melodies placed them in league of their own, equaled only by the likes of Sepultura. And while it features key tracks like the excellent "Zombie Ritual," "Spiritual Healing," and "Suicide Machine," consumers would be better served to seek out the band's debut, Scream Bloody Gore.
