About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Chapin is one of the most professional and literate children's performers. His recordings, which include Family Tree and Shovlin', are among the wittiest and most appropriate for children (and big people love them too). His recordings are among the best produced for children, and this is probably his best. For ages three to ten. ~ Bob Hinkle & Chip Renner, All Music Guide All Music Guide

October 04, 2002: I am a first grade teacher who uses music daily in instruction. Tom Chapin has provided my class with many CDs, but this one, the Family Tree, which was my first, is still our favorite. We (all the first grade teachers at our school, and the students) especially take delight in the CD title song, Family Tree, a song which celebrates diversity and the family of man at the same time, becomes the first grade theme for the year. This Pretty Planet, a round about the earth, compliments study of the solar system, and allows me to stretch the children's listening skills. I really could elaborate about each song included in this work of art, but instead should just give it my whole-hearted recommendation as a CD which teaches, and entertains, both children and adults.
