Few contemporary instrumentalists get into the holiday spirit quite like Kenny G. Of course, few contemporary instrumentalists have sold millions of copies of their first foray into seasonal music, as Mr. G did with the 1994 release of MIRACLES: THE HOLIDAY ALBUM. On his 1999 release, FAITH: A HOLIDAY ALBUM, the saxman once again proves he knows how to turn good tidings into sweet music. Training his beloved soprano sax, and equally cozy tenor, on holiday favorites like "The First Noel," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," "I’ll Be Home for Christmas," and "Auld Lang Syne," G delivers all the goods -- even these hardy tunes are given a joyous shot of contemporary flair. With a team that includes coproducer-arranger Walter Afanasieff and ace session players bassist Nathan East and keyboardist Greg Phillinanes, Kenny G brings rhythm and high style to songs that are, by now, part of our national tapestry. And being the egalitarian fellow that he is, Kenny even slips in an original holiday song, "Eternal Light (A Hanukkah Song)." David Cohen, Barnes & Noble
