About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Success hasn't spoiled Sully Erna. Godsmack's leader made his mark on millions by raging against, well, just about everything you'd care to mention -- and he continues to air his grievances on this follow-up to his band's self-titled, multi-platinum breakthrough. Names aren't named, but the No. 1 spot is probably held by the object of "I F--king Hate You," a spasmodically lurching riff-fest punctuated by some of Erna's fiercest howls. "I Stand Alone" is similarly disaffected in tone, but the band -- particularly guitarist Tony Rombola -- holds back a little, replacing full-throttle roar with a lower-pitched but still menacing rumble. On "Serenity" (the last word one would normally use in any description of these New Englanders), Godsmack even daub a layer of orchestration over their largely acoustic chord progressions. For the most part, however, Faceless retains the energy-über-alles philosophy that's made Godsmack virtually unassailable at the top of rock's list of most moshable metallurgists. November 01, 2007: If your a metal head from the old school, you have to see the similarity to Black Sabbath. These bands are almost identical in every way, except Godsmack has a little faster tempo. I saw these guys a couple of months ago and they are the best live heavy band I have ever seen. Fantastic rhythm section, and a guitar sound that really fits their style. Hope they continue to crank.

December 22, 2004: This band is so cool. They come up with some of the hardest riffs. I really like straight out of line and i stand alone. They are the best songs on the cd.
