About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

On its major label debut, Every Six Seconds, Saliva gets a heavier sound and a way more polished production than the band's self-titled debut of four years earlier. The Memphis outfit has a better way with a melodic hook than some of its peers, which is fortunate, since singer Josey Scott's more frequent forays into rap-metal can sound a little forced. The production brings in a huge bottom sound absent from Saliva, as well as a few newfound electronic touches that hit upon the all-important Nine Inch Nails touchstone. So, Every Six Seconds is a pretty well-crafted alternative metal album overall. But, as with many other bands of its ilk, the elements that set Saliva apart from the rest of the alt-metal pack are really apparent only to the genre's hardcore faithful. August 27, 2001: Im a fan of slipknot, linkin park and a wide range of music and ive heard alot of apparent 'saviours' but this album swept me away. The whole album has a intensity to it which captivates you.The singer Josey Scott has a magnificent voice and a wide vocal range from sweeping melodys to shoutalongs such as 'after me' with the slightly paranoid chorus of 'the whole world is after me' The songs reflect life but ull find no whining on this record he himself says so on 'click click boom'which talks about writng the record. The album has metal moments with songs such as 'musta been wrong' and 'superstar' but the last track 'my goodbyes' is a heart aching song about the death of Josey's father. The record had be in tears but also wanting to mosh round my room, but maybe im lonely.Josey and his crew had trouble getting a deal but as he says in 'Beg' ''look at me now''
