Instead of collecting the usual new age-oriented relaxation music, Triloka's Elevation features hypnotic Native American, chant, and world music-inspired tracks, including Jai Uttal's "Watching the Signs," Little Wolf's "Coyote Dance," and Tarika's "Sulawesi." Though pieces such as Tulku's "Anni Rose" and Spirit Nation's "We Are Still Here" still feature enough synth washes and drum machines to make purists wince, other tracks, like Vieux Diop's "Mansani" and Bhagavan Das' "Sri Krhishna Arati," have a relatively organic sound. The hyper-pristine digital production on many of the tracks here tends to distract from the music's earthy inspirations, but Elevation does deliver a slightly different twist on music that's perfect for relaxation, massage, or meditation.
