December 15, 2005: Element Eighty do have some of the right elements (pardon the pun) needed to be a successful modern day American metal band, but instead they play derivative rock that all sounds the same and offers nothing new to the musical world. Aside from "Scars", every song on the band's full-length debut for Universal sounds like a bland, tuneless metal romp through wannabe Godsmack and Sevendust territory. There's always something missing with the guitars, like there's always a twang and some effects, but there's no solid riffing behind it to back it up -- leaving the rest of the sound out in the open, which believe me, does not work to the band's advantage. The drumming isn't bad, but the songs are too empty to back up any of the promises the beats may make.

July 29, 2004: I agree with my amigo here... awesome band that came outa nowhere's but knocked (rocked) my socks off! If you like any of these 12 awesome tracks, you're going to love all the rest. Plenty heavy and packed with all the emotion you need when that hot chick who you think likes you turns you down... this album helped me through some hard times.. just give 'em a try.. it's cheap as hell everywhere!
