Hi all,
This CD is great, but it's not a lot of original work. It's easy to tell that B. Tyler wrote it because he seems to borrow a great deal from his previous soundtracks. So, I'd recommend it more for people who are just starting to explore him as a composer. But, if like me, you count him amongst your list of favorites, you won't mind adding this CD to your collection. The music has a definite theme, has great dymanics and is more along the lines of his intense, dramatic work. It's has a few more mellow moments, but is more of the adventure climax than soothing repose. So, I'd suggest listen to clips first, if it's new enough for you, go for it, if not, you'll hear great similarities in "Bangcock Dangerous" and a little from "Timeline." Also, "Quantum of Solace," by D. Arnold has a few of the same themes and facets to it. It is a good CD, but it's not startlingly new.
I Also Recommend: Dragonball Evolution [Score], Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, King Arthur, The Last Samurai, Defiance.
