Featuring Bob Dylan together with the Grateful Dead, the live Dylan & the Dead has an intriguing selection of songs, including staples like "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" and more obscure gems like "Joey," although both artists have done better. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

June 19, 2001: This is the meeting in the same orbit of the two giant planets of the two neighbor solar systems, more than twenty years later following their own ''big bang'' [ Maybe such an event, it was beyond daydreaming then ]. Each song in this beautiful/dark/exciting/gloomy ''team work'', gains a brand-new identity thanks to Mr.Bob Dylan's ''vertiginous/peaceful/elegiac'' singing and The Grateful Dead's unique ''volatile-fragile'' sound. Of course, this album is not a collection of the best ''alive moments'' of both immense artists but it is an ''historical must'' for all the ''Dylan & The Dead'' fans for sure.
