About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Duran Duran came back out of nowhere in early 1993 with a new album and a huge hit, "Ordinary World." The group sounds more relaxed and mature than it did during their glory days, but not all that much has changed; instead of personifying the days of early-'80s synthesized dance-pop, the music is smooth dance-pop for the '90s. Taken on its own terms, Duran Duran works every bit as well as Duran Duran, Rio or Seven and the Ragged Tiger. "Ordinary World" and "Come Undone" are wonderful pop singles that sit between some passable album tracks and the occasional embarrassment, namely the wretched cover of The Velvet Underground's "Femme Fatale." In other words, Duran Duran are back and as good as they ever were. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

September 17, 2002: DD's reinvention in '93 after their late 80's trough is a welcome one. For once they managed to create an album which fans and critics took to. The opener Too Much Information focuses on the very medium which made them stars in the previous decade, tv and video. The singles are faultless and Breath After Breath is their most beautiful song since 1982's Save A Prayer. Love Voodoo and the hard-funky Sin Of The City are other main highlights. They deserved to go on to better things but then brought out a appalling covers album. Silly DD. With this album we finally get to hear a truly consistent melodic even daneable set from a ban which before and since have come up short. Check it out.
