About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Even if Charlotte Church's debut album hadn't been titled Voice of an Angel, the radiant purity of her voice would inevitably have brought to mind the image of a sweetly beaming young cherub. Given the enormous success of that recording, it was just as inevitable that the teenaged diva would soon lend her soprano to an album of Christmas songs and carols. What wasn't inevitable, though, is just how good this effort is. Dream a Dream presents a joyful range of holiday music, all dressed up in festive arrangements. Church sings with charming exuberance on "Ding Dong Merrily on High," glowing conviction on sacred numbers such as "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "O Holy Night," and true childish glee on "Winter Wonderland." The touching Welsh carol "Draw Tua Bethlehem" is a special treat, as is the lovely "Gabriel's Message," accompanied only by harp. In addition to these yuletide favorites, Church offers the title track as a special gift -- an anthemic, glittering blend of classical and pop, based on Fauré's haunting Pavane, "Dream a Dream" also features the voice of 12-year-old country sensation Billy Gilman. Dream a Dream is Church's best album yet, and an instant Christmas classic. Scott Paulin, Barnes & Noble

December 07, 2007: Charlotte has a fabulous voice, but it's very thin and trying to sing over the orchestral music needed to make these songs wonderful proved to be a challange for her. She also seemed to sing with no passion in any of her notes. It was a good CD, but I feel that with a voice like hers she should have had a MUCH better CD. Silent Night, where she duets herself, is great however! As is Ding Dong! Merrily on High. Other then that, kind of a let down.

August 10, 2005: I love this album so much that I literally tore my house up recently to listen to it in July!!! I play this all year round, esp to hear What Child is This, Mary's Boy Child, & O Holy Night. A Must for every christmas.
