About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Knoxville, TN, alt-metal act 10 Years made their major-label debut with 2005's The Autumn Effect, an effort much beholden to the likes of Tool and Staind, and the album scored a big radio hit with the single "Wasteland." Reportedly recorded in a fractious intra-band environment (hence the title), Division sounds like the work of a band that carefully and thoroughly deconstructed its previous hit and attempted to replicate it several more times for the follow-up. Division is a smooth, radio-friendly record featuring new producer Rick Parashar's glossy layers of instruments and vocals. Occasional moments also suggest that the bandmembers now consider themselves "artists": the coda of "Picture Perfect (In Your Eyes)" is nearly as long as the body of the song itself, and features a spoken word poem read by one of the album's female backing vocalists. Division may well have the intended effect of prolonging the band's chart life, at least temporarily. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide All Music Guide

July 08, 2008: I became acquainted with 10 Years with their singles on the radio and I'd enjoyed them for ages. It was not until recently that I purchased their albums, both of which were fantastic trades for a relatively small amount of money. I strongly feel that Division shows 10 Year's growth in their music. While The Autumn Effect was a great album, Division has more of an edge, which, to me, is always welcome when not in excess. My favorites include &quot Russian Roulette&quot (if it were any more emotional on Hasek's part, he'd just be shouting at you. sorry, Mr. Mason) and &quot Focus&quot , a heart-swelling and dancing song that I can listen to over and over again. Just today, I've probably listened to Russian Roulette 10 times, I enjoy it that much. It is rare that a critic really knows anything and the review for Division certainly shows this. I find the CD to be immensely enjoyable and I already look forward to what 10 Years comes out with next.
