Aptly subtitled "Gentle Instrumental Favorites for Baby," this soft-focus album delivers exactly that, along with some general but potentially helpful sleep tips in the liner notes written by clinical psychologist Dr. Jodi Mindell. Disney's Lullaby Album features well-known nighttime melodies along with Disney's own lullaby standards, delivered via piano, guitar, strings, and other non-jarring instruments. While the overall effect at times threatens to bleed into Muzak territory, it certainly accomplishes its primary goal: to soothe your little one to dreamland. Included here are such classics as "Brahms' Lullaby" (with a dollop of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" tossed in for good measure) and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," pop offerings like the Everly Brothers' "(All I Have to Do Is) Dream," and Disney favorites such as the ever-endearing "Baby Mine" (from Dumbo) and "When You Wish Upon a Star" (from Pinocchio). One thing is certain: If this collection doesn't lull your baby -- and likely the rest of your household - to sleep, nothing will. Moira McCormick, Barnes & Noble
