About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits (1991-2001) celebrates the career (so far) of Toronto's Barenaked Ladies, who went from playing tiny Ontario dives to headlining the world's biggest stages. All their biggest songs are here, each bursting with BNL's wonderful melodies, beautiful harmonies, and trademark humor, and as a bonus, the set includes two new tracks, "It's Only Me (The Wizard of Magicland)" and "Thanks That Was Fun." January 01, 2005: It's All Been Done, Call and Answer, If I Had $1000000, The Old Apartment... I wouldn't call myself a huge fan of Barenaked Ladies, but this album is fantastic. I'm normally quite picky about the songs I listen to--a typical CD might have only 4 or 5 songs that I like, and I'll just skip the rest. There's only one song on this CD that I skip, and that's only after listening to the first half. (No, I won't tell you which song. Suffice to say that the tune gets old about halfway through.) I would definitely recommend this CD. It's gooood listenin'.

July 07, 2002: Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits. If you're a huge fan of BNL like I am, you'll understand the meaning of the title from the track ''Box Set'' from ''Gordon''. -''Disc one, it's where we've begun, it's all my greatest hits, and if you are a fan then you know that you've already got 'em.'' This is true, for the most part, which is why I hestitated to get this album. I eventually did get it because the album contains four tracks that haven't been featured on any of their previous albums. Two brand new tracks -''It's Only Me (The Wizard Of Magicland)'' and ''Thanks That Was Fun'', and two old unreleased tracks -''Get In Line'' and ''Lovers In A Dangerous Time''. For the rest of the tracks (coming from six classic albums) you hear what you expect to hear, but not completely. This compilation includes re-mixes for certian tunes. Not re-mix in urban music terms, but different sounding versions of songs from how they sound on the original albums. (Even though they are the same versions.) They sound more like how they sound as singles and in music videos. This includes tunes as ''The Old Apartment'', ''Pinch Me'' and ''Shoebox''. The album, overall is sequenced fairly well, except, I would have finished the album with ''If I Had $1000000''. One of their early classics, and always a great closing tune. Not that ''Thanks That Was Fun'' isn't. You can't go wrong with BNL.
