May 27, 2006: This is probably the best soundtrack I've bought in a while! It's just superb! It's so funny, witty, and the acting is just ...WOW. It's a must for any Broadway or music fan.

July 22, 2005: I saw this show about a month ago and bought the CD during intermission. David Yazbek's music is perfect in reflecting the tone of the show and his lyrics make me laugh everytime I listen to the CD. The voices are amazing- Norbert Leo Butz, Sherie Rene Scott and John Lithgow blow me away and Joanna Gleason and Gregory Jbara make a nice pair. Sara Gettlefinger is also good in a small role that shows off her great vocals. I would give this five stars if it were a CD that everyone could enjoy- even those who have not had the opportinuity to see the show. As the special track "A Message from John Lithgow" reminds us, the final three songs will ruin the surprise ending for those who haven't seen it. Also, the delightful song "All About Ruprecht" does not include most of the hilarity that it has onstage, so for those who were not able to see the song being performed live will not enjoy it as much as those who have. Overall, this is a great CD for musical theater fanatics who have seen the show. If you haven't, I would suggest seeing the show first before buying the CD. You'll enjoy many of the tracks more.
