About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Given her meteoric rise as a solo star, it's admirable that Beyoncé has reunited with her Destiny's Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams -- perhaps the loyal young diva finds that's three's company and not a crowd. The multi-platinum-selling trio's fifth studio album picks up where their 2001 chartbuster, Survivor, left off with a likable collection of girl-power anthems and smoldering ballads. The difference is that the twenty-something ladies reveal a more mature, sensual side, particularly on songs like the frenetically-paced, marching band inspired first single "Lose My Breath," the gushing "Cater 2 U," and the racy "T-Shirt." The latter song, however, tries too hard to be sexy, with Beyoncé unconvincingly moaning ŕ la Miss Jackson for her lover to "keep it right there." Despite that misstep, and the fact that Michelle's cartoon-like vocals still sound out of sync, on the strength of Beyoncé's fiery, trill-running vocals, the ladies stay on track with classic soul-inspired tracks such as "Is She the Reason" and "Free," and the gospel-infused "Through with It." On most of the album, Destiny's Child live up their billing as the new millennium Supremes. That said, Beyoncé will surely match, if not surpass, the solo success of Diana Ross. But for now, consider Destiny's Child's Destiny Fulfilled. Tracy E. Hopkins, Barnes & Noble

December 17, 2005: Again after reading everyone elses reviews, i have come up with my own opinion about this album. First off nobody ever said that destiny's child was supposed to be a pop act.Which means that you don't always have to have a catchy fast song about nothing but shaking it up in the club somewhere! This album is flawless and makes each and every other destiny's child album look like trash! The harmonies are so startling and beautiful. The lyrics mean so much more than before. The girls show us just how much they have grown.Beyonce who is usually the best out of the three meets her match with kelly and michelle stepping up to the plate.Michelle on some songs seem out of place but , redeems herself on "Love" and steals the show from...yes beyonce knowles! on "Through With Love " This album sets the standards on what a group truly should sound like. The whole album tells a story that many can relate to and it's so refreshing! So how dare you so- called destiny's child fans cry over not having enough fast songs!Shame on you! This album is a must have!

June 26, 2005: Personally, I love this Cd! I think it's refreshing to hear the other girls voices not just Beyonce. Don't get me wrong, though, Beyonce is an amazing singer! This Cd has upbeat songs, but also shows the soulfull side of Destiny's Child! It's a great combination and flows amazingly! The songs are beautiful and the cd is amazing!
